A native of Brazil, Roberta Schilling was born into a family of designers and grew up in Minas Gerais state, the cradle of Brazilian colonial architecture and art.
From a very young age she was introduced to the world of art and decoration, as her mother owns a renowned local home accessory and fresh flower boutique. Growing up in Brazil, and later attending college in Florida, has given Schilling a special ability to market products from her native country in the
United States. As a college student, Schilling saw an opportunity to bring high-end, hand-painted Brazilian furniture to a receptive American audience while hunting for merchandise for her mother’s store in the US trade shows. In 1995, 24 year old Schilling founded her company which stands today as one of the premier distributors of Brazilian furniture.
