The Walfab Company is a unique and diverse collection of fabric and wallcovering brands developed for residential and hospitality design. Established in 1985, Walfab began as a small niche company catering to the local marine and hotel industries of South Florida. Throughout the years, Walfab quietly grown into a major textile resource for interior designers, decorators and architects all across the country. Today, we not only design and develop our own brand of decorative textiles, we work as a representative agency for a variety of other textile companies from all over the world throughout the state of Florida and nationally.
History In the mid 1980’s the Owner and President of The Walfab Company, Rick Donoff, decided it was time to build his own textile company after working for industry legends, David & Dash and Robert Allen. Rick and his wife, Elaine decided to open their first showroom in the booming Miami Design District. 40th street was the place to be and they were hitting it at the right time.
Walfab Company flourished and the business continued to grow for nearly 8 years before making its move to a new design center being built just up the road in Broward county, the Design Center of The Americas (DCOTA). During the 1990’s Walfab began to design and develop its signiture tropical style which became the foundation for the companies long standing success.
Walfab was quickly becoming a staple brand for designers and decorators throughout the state of Florida. For nearly 15 years the Walfab showroom at DCOTA was a destination for the Interior Design community and developed into a major textile resource. Not only did Walfab continue to grow its own line of decorative fabrics but it began to represent many of the most respected textile companies in the industry.
Over the course of its history Walfab has represented company’s such as Duralee, Romo, Arte, Anna French and many more until they became large enough to cover the territory themselves. In 2005 the next generation of The Walfab Company came onboard and sparked a wild fire of fresh new ideas and developed a creative new identity to take the company to new heights. In addition to the Walfab brand, the company launched two new brands targeting a whole new spectrum of designers, Donoff Textiles and Finascot Designs.
These brands provided Walfab the opportunity to expand the companies range of product to a growing market of modern and transitional design styles. Together, all three brands offer an extensive selection decorative textiles with a unique and distinct identity. Today, we not only design and develop our own brands we represent a variety of European textiles companies throughout the country along side our brands.
